Command Line Operation - Command Line Wizard

If you want to run reports from the command line with more than a few settings, using a configuration file is a great way to do it. Instead of specifying multiple options at the command line, you only need to specify the path to the configuration file.

• Setting all options from the command line:
  C:\Program Files\Easy View\EasyView.exe CMD M=E,R=C:\BlankReport.rpt, S=1, E=MS Word, F=C:\BlankReport, To=user@mail.com, Sub=Mail Subject, Msg=Mail Body
• Using the configuration file:
  C:\Program Files\Easy View\EasyView.exe CMD File=C:\Mail.clo

The easiest way to generate a configuration file is to use the 'Command Line Wizard'. To access the 'Command Line Wizard' start Easy View and click the 'Tools' menu and then 'Command Line Wizard'.

The Command Line Wizard will guide you through creating a configuration file.

Required Settings:

  • Name of the configuration file
  • Report Type
  • Report File
• Quick Print
  • Name of the configuration file
  • Report Type
  • Report File
  • Number of copies
• Export
  • Name of the configuration file
  • Report Type
  • Report File
  • Format
  • Export File
  • Overwrite File
    • Optional
      • Print
      • Number of copies
      • Email
      • To
      • Cc
      • Bcc
      • Subject
      • Mail Type
      • Mail Body
• Saved Schedule
  • Name of the configuration file
  • Name o the saved schedule

Creating a Shortcut:

Once you have the configuration file set, you can use the wizard to create a Windows shortcut. To do this simply click on the 'Create Shortcut' button in the wizard. Enter the name and location of the shortcut and Easy View will create a shortcut that will launch the program and read the specified configuration file.
