Variables - Customizing the list
If the standard variables in Easy View don't suit your needs exactly, you
can change them or even make new variables of your own.
To open the master list of variables click on the 'Tools' menu and then 'Variable
Settings'.
Variable Types
- DateTime
This category is all variables that involve dates, times, days, months, years
etc.
- Registry
This category allows you to get settings from the Window registry.
The main registry directory is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program
Settings\Easy View.
Changing the format
The most common thing you may want to do is change the format of the way a
variable will be displayed. For example the variable <Date> will display
today's date like this 1/1/2010. This is because the format is set to M/d/yyyy. If
you want to display the year with 2 numbers, you can change the format to M/d/yy.
These are all standard Windows formatting techniques.
Adding a DateTime Variable
To add a new DateTime variable, click on the last row in the grid and enter
the information in for the variable you want.
- VarName
Name of the variable. This must be unique in the variable list.
- Type
Enter DateTime for this type.
- StringFormat

- Range
The sets the maximum value you can use for calculated dates. For example
entering 120 will limit you to either <Date-120> or <Date+120>. Do not
